A Concrete Saw Can Be Used for Cutting Concrete, Masonry, Brick, Asphalt, Tile & Other Solid Materials

The blades used on a concrete saw are often Diamond Blades to cut concrete, asphalt, stone, etc. Abrasive cut-off wheels can also be used on a concrete saw to cut stone and steel. The significant friction generated in the cutting of hard objects like stone and concrete requires the blades to be cooled to prolong their life and reduce dust.

A Core Drill is specifically used to remove a cylinder of material, much like a hole saw. The material left inside the drill bit is call the Core. ​Core Drills used for concrete are usually called diamond core drills and are water cooled. For drilling masonry, carbide drills can be used.
